A parking system, where you have to buy the parking tickets for a specific time is known as Pay and Display. It is used for car parks and for on-street parking or wherever you find signs for that.

Generally, there are buttons for that and by pressing them the machine will inform you the time and cost for each minute for parking. You can keep on inserting money until your desired time has reached. After that your ticket will be issued. The ticket must be displayed on either things like dashboards, windscreen or passenger window. While your ticket expires, you've to pay for that and leave the parking spot or pay for more and stay there.
